How Can We Help?

Arming and Disarming (Using Code and Quick Arm Buttons)

You can arm and disarm your alarm system using a variety of methods. The 2 easiest are done at your keypad. There are 2 primary modes in which to arm your alarm. The first, is the “Away” mode. This arms the entire system so all your doors, glass breaks and motion detectors are
active. You will set the system for “Away” when no one will be at home, and any pets are confined to spaces that don’t have motion detection. You can arm the system to “Away” by either typing in your user code once, or by pressing the quick arm button labeled Exit. Either of these methods will arm your system for “Away”. When you return you will hear an entry delay tone from your keypad, and you will have 30 seconds to enter your code to disarm the system. This delay can be adjusted if necessary.

The other primary mode is called “Stay” and would be used when someone is staying at the house and wants to move around freely, yet still have perimeter protection. This mode arms the doors and glass breaks but bypasses the motion detectors so you can move around the house and not set off the alarm. You can also use this mode if you have pets that move around the house when you are not at home. You can arm the system in the “Stay” mode by pressing the quick arm button labeled “Stay” on your keypad. In the Stay mode there is an entry delay when entering the house through a primary door. This is the same delay as when in Away mode. If you are in for the night and do not expect anyone to come or go, then you can engage “Stay Instant” by pressing the Stay button a second time. This removes the entry delay on all primary doors and would set the alarm off instantly when opened.

You can also arm and disarm your system by using the Control4 App while on your home’s Wifi network, or through a 4-Sight subscription when you are away from the house. Another option is to use your alarm.com App. These methods are covered in our tutorial video section.
