How Can We Help?

Modem (Pictures and Explanation of Service, Lights on the modem and what they mean)

Your modem is provided by your Service Provider (Spectrum, AT&T, Comcast, etc…) and is responsible for connecting your home network to the Internet. If your modem is locked up or there is a service interruption you may lose connection to the Internet. This is different then your Ethernet and WiFi network. The Home Network usually continues to function even if the internet service is temporarily out. If your service is working properly you should see the following on your modem:

  1. Solid Power Light
  2. Solid Online Light (this represents connectivity to the service provider)
  3. Upload and Download Lights on or flickering (this represents traffic with the service provider)
  4. Flickering Home Network Light (this represents traffic with the Home Network)

If the lights do not look like this, then power cycle the modem by unplugging just the power cord, waiting 30 seconds and plugging back in. Wait 3-5 minuets and try again. If that does not fix call the service provider to make sure there is not an outage and/or to further troubleshoot your modem.
