How Can We Help?

Problems with Cable Box or Satellite receiver

If your cable box or satellite receiver locks up or is seemingly running slow, then it probably needs to be rebooted.

Cable Box

To reboot your cable box you must perform a “Power Cycle” by unplugging the unit then plugging it back in. With most cable boxes the boot up process will take a while. You will see a variety of letters and numbers signifying the stage of the boot up process. Once you see the current time displayed on the front of the cable box, then the boot up is done. You can now turn on the cable box and test. If you have further trouble then you must contact your cable service provider to check your signal and see if they can reset your signal.

Satellite Receiver

With a Dish Network System you have the main ‘Hopper’ that controls all the dish feeds, and ‘Joeys’ stationed at each TV to receive the signal from the Hopper.

First, power cycle your Joey by unplugging from power then plugging back in. If this does not solve your issue, then you must power cycle the Hopper. Usually the hopper is connected to the main TV in your home. If a power cycle of the Hopper does not solve your issue then it will be service related issue with your dish.
